Villa Lante is composed of two cottages, almost identical, even if built by different owners in different periods, 30 years apart.
Villa Lante was first commissioned in 1566 by Cardinal Gianfrancesco Gambara who gave his name to the first cottage, what is found on the right as you enter. The garden was completed in those years.
Cardinal Alessandro Peretti Montalto completed the project costruiendo the second cottage.
